TO THE HOUSE FIRE DEAD 2019, 126 Artist Gallery Galway Ireland
Reaction to witnessing community response in the immediate aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire. The exhibition includes 2 moving image works, BLANK HISTORY 2019, exploring postcolonial response to Loss, MONUMENT TO THE HOUSE FIRE DEAD 2009-11, silent, ephemeral monument to all unnamed and undeclared London dead.
To exhibit both works together BLANK HISTORY is housed in a soundproof cinema. The exterior walls are decorated with a story narrative of the fire and its aftermath.
